I was Born and raised in Lawrence Kansas and received an Architectural Degree from The University of Kansas. I have spent many years in Denver
as a Project Architect for the Architectural firm of Sink Combs Dethlefs.
I now live in Golden Colorado.
I was the lead designer on many projects for Sink Combs Dethlefs
Architects. I have attached a small portfolio showing buildings I have designed In Denver and other locations.
In addition to Architecture, I have always Been involved in exploring and creating many art forms including photography and painting. For the last several years I have been focused on my art and wall sculptures.
The small physical models made in Architectural offices that show the very preliminary concept have always been fascinating and important to me.
Because it is simple, quick, often made of cardboard, it is quite open to a multitude of possibilities. that exploration process is filled with hope and
expectations with no limits. that feeling of exploration and discovery is carried into my process of doing the art.
My art ends up being a series of drawings, experimental forms and textures looking to connect in a way that is bigger than the components. I use a lot of wood, steel and textures for my 3-dimentional wall hangings, but I am always looking for new materials that express new dimensions.
I would like my work to have some depth literally and figuratively. The work
needs to strike a chord with a strong statement, that will then draw one to explore the detail of the work.
